School assignment

Daan had a school assignment, which had to be sent in today. Make a portrait of yourself based on a famous Dutch painting that is in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.

Panic all over, he didn’t know what to do, and it was too late to come up with something. What could we do??? The world was coming to an end!
Somehow this was now becoming my problem.

We sat down together and googled some photos. When I saw the Milkmaid, made by Vermeer, I immediately visualized Daan in our kitchen, with a window on the proper side. We needed light coming through it, and it was getting dark already, it was almost 17.00 o'clock.
In a rush Daan changed some clothes, dropped a cloth on his head and there he was...... our modern Milkboy!

I processed the photo and he sent it in just before 17.30 hours, minutes before the deadline. His teacher responded enthusiastically, asking if she could use this one on her Instagram!

Once again, Daan had a narrow escape. Somehow he always gets away with things.
