20 year as a News Editor on the Sunday Telegraph and eight or nine papers leading up to that position. A wonderful warm man who is fascinating to talk to; except we are both deaf as posts. Derek was a colleague of the late great Bill Deedes, possibly the best Editor the Telegraph ever had.
