Woodcarving
This woodcarving of a pig is on the path leading up to the Wallace Monument. There are quite a few other carvings and I imagine they will encourage young children up the hill. The pig is an illustration of what the first farmers in Scotland would have been up to. In 3,800 BCE they'd have been domesticating cattle, sheep and pigs and growing crops. They were doing some hunting/gathering too.
Walked up to the Monument today with a friend who is walking 5000,000 steps in a month to raise money and awareness for the epilepsy organisation she's involved with. I clocked up 17K on our walk and she will have done at least another 5K walking to and from my house. It was cold, sleety, hailing and murky but we had a great walk and so did Flora who roamed about off her lead for at least half the time we were out (nearly 3 hours).
Settling down to a quiet afternoon now with a bit of correspondence and other admin to attend to. Have a good weekend all.
