Flower Friday: Daphne Bud

Rather than blip my Editor's lisianthus flowers again, I had a wander round the garden looking for a flower to blip. It's not easy at this time of year - the only flowers I could find were some Hellebores and this Daphne bud. While I was looking the weather was dry (although cloudy) and there was very little wind - but 5 minutes later when I went out again with camera & tripod it was darker, raining and quite windy! I'd not intended to use flash but it proved the best way of getting a clear shot: however I rather like the black background effect which it produced. (It looks best large.)

I had a quick look back on my blip journal and note that I blipped from this shrub almost exactly a year ago, on 24th January 2020 - little did we know then what was in store for the world!
