Advance party
Backblip
Yesterday we finally had some time to ourselves and it was a glorious day. So, we pottered off to the Dalmeny Estate for a walk. I wasn't feeling in the mood for a great long route march so we ambled down to the beach. I've never been to this bit of the beach on the Dalmeny side of the River Almond before so it was rather strange to see the back of the old ferryman's cottage looking across to Cramond village.
On the beach we met this little chap who was somewhat inquisitive. He started off some distance away from us but kept scampering towards us, stopping and starting every few minutes, eyeing us up, checking us out, advancing a little more. He was quite close before he decided we were either too boring or too dodgy for a closer look! His curiosity satisfied he scampered off back along the beach.
It was refreshing to see a familiar place from a completely different perspective. We had a lovely walk along the little coves. I've never seen so many shells piled up in one place before, brought in on the high tides. I even managed a spot of beach combing, picking up bits of driftwood that I have a vague creative idea for! Hubby gave me a look that said, 'Clutter Alert!'.
No inspiration for a blip today and off south on the train to visit Mum tomorrow, so another busy few days ahead.
