Saddle End.

Too good to stay in today so up early and up onto the fells for a long walk. After a frost last night I was hoping the ground would still be frozen on the fells rather than the soggy morass it can be at times. Totridge was my chosen destination, not been up for a while and its best done after frost or a drought. Still decent patches of snow about and not a soul to be seen, even on the distant skylines. I took time out to reflect on things where Bill Smith had finished his last run and later on I came across a small memorial to him on the trig point at Totridge summit. A quick bite to eat and heading back towards Fairsnape and still no sign of anybody enjoying the day. The only thing that was notable was the smoke from burning heather on distant fells. Another quick break at Fairsnape and a chat to the only other person I saw all day, quickly up Parlick watching the paragliders do their stuff and down for a well earnt pint mug of tea.
