WestConnex St Peters

On the other side of Sydney Park the state government is building a massive road interchange. This is the entrance to the new M8, open a few months now but still avoided by motorists due to the toll. We drove through when it first opened, the only car on the road and a slightly surreal experience.

The interchange perimeter has a mix of budget hotels and fast food joints, new WestConnex structures and old light industries, container yards and taxi depots. Today I encountered only food delivery riders.
