Maple gets new boots!
Here she is, chewing her feet. Oh, how they have been missed! By the way, she is not as pale as the picture depicts. (However, she is this chubby).
We went to the playground on the beach today with some of Bailee and Oscar's twin friends. They all had a great play. We had a bit of a crisis with Bailee managing to flick sand in her own eyes while keeping her eyes open (Not nice). In addition, Oscar almost pushed his dear sister off the playground tower as he wanted his own boy space up there... Apart from that playing on the beach was relaxing and fun.
After 10 days of flannel washing, it felt so good to take Maple's casts off and give her a bath before the next round! She had a luxuriously bubbly lavender soak and was scrubbed from head to toe. She smelt so good, like a baby again. I love smelling her hair. It was lovely to see her little, (chubby) legs again. I immediately could see her feet have improved already. There was a little bit of dry skin and slight bruising around her ankles :-( Brave, strong girl. She has seemed so unphased by them. Surprisingly, after the bath had worn off, I noticed her legs stink. Apparently it is normal. Ew. I have been reassured they will not drop off....
The Orthopaedic Surgeon was very pleased with her progress and said that she will probably only need one more lot of casts and then the special shoes. Fantastic! She now has yellow, buzzy bee casts on for the next 11 days. I need to go and order her special shoes for afterwards (Looking at the invoice I am assuming they are Jimmy Choos?!)
When I got home Oscar and Bailee were running around, happily playing with their soft toys. Oscar came running up, took one look at Maple and exclaimed, "Maple so lucky, Maple got new special boots. Oscar got no boots."
