Anthurium

This rather strange looking house plant is grown for its striking red spathes, which people often mistake for the flowers.  The actual flowers grow out from the centre of the spathe, densely packed along a spadix. These flowers are really tiny. Apparently it is a tropical plant often used as wedding flowers in Hawaii.  However it seems to grow quite happily inside if in a sunny position.
