Big Garden Birdwatch

SATURDAY
 
A bit of a lazy morning drinking coffee and watching the birds. It’s the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch weekend. The tally today includes blackbirds, robins, woodpigeons, hedge sparrows, coal tits, great tits, long-tailed tits, blue tits, house sparrows and goldfinches. Strangely I didn’t see any magpies of jackdaws – they are regular visitors too.
 
A bitterly cold day but we had a 5 km walk up to the edge of the moor.
 
A nice chat with my uncle Kenneth this evening and also with Harriet.
 
With a bit of luck I might just scrape in 10,000 steps today.
