when is a path not a path

I am trying to up the amount of walking I'm doing as I hope to walk the Wicklow Way ( http://www.wicklowway.com/ ) this summer so dragged my poor sister for (what I now consider) a short walk - up to and around Ashtown reservoir and home again - about 1.5 hrs. Unfortunately we were unable to go all the way around as some of the path was just a little waterlogged! Instead - having come 3/4 of the way around we then went back the opposite way, making our walk just a smidge longer - but it was lovely walking weather - dry and cold - great for getting the circulation going!
