More hummingbirds

I went for a nice but cold and damp walk today, didn't find anything inspiring to photograph so I headed home and worked with the flash again. By the time these two were taken it was very late afternoon and starting to get dark, but I think I figured out the high speed sync, so I could increase the shutter speed.  I don't have it all yet but  I feel like I'm understanding it much better.  Thank you to everyone that commented with flash tips, I read through them all and it was very helpful.  Couple more things I want to try but ran out of daylight.  The settings for this were ISO 800 400 mm f/8 1/500.
