Looking down...
To the Mark Jones Day of Dance this morning - virtually of course! In real life it's a wonderful day, an extravaganza of Molly dancing, broom dancing, music, food and drink. It takes place in and around Ely, and the participants are bused to three different pubs on the Fens where they dance outside, usually in freezing cold weather. Today Ouse Washes Molly side, who host the event, put on a 2-hour online spectacular involving Molly sides from all over England, and from the US too. You had to 'take' your own food and drink this year though! The most fun I've had in months!
Half way up the first slope on our afternoon walk to Kettles Fort and the Pin Well, the half of strong cider that I drank whilst 'at' the day of dance didn't seem such a good idea, as it seemed to have gone to my legs. But we just had to toast Mark Jones, and orange juice just wasn't appropriate! It was a short but very pleasant walk, with good views down over Glendale.
In the evening a film on Netflix, The Dig, based in the real story of the excavations at Sutton Hoo. A real gem...
