Frozen trees...

and sun on the tops in the cold of morning. Crisp snow crunched under our footsteps as we headed off across the golf course. Cross country skiers had used the route too. well below freezing all day.
Fieldfares were looking for water in the pools between drifts, looking incongruous against the snow. Woodpeckers were calling in tandem in courtship displays. Bullfinches were calling from the woodland.
