Lockdown #3 - day twenty-six.
Ancient oak trees...
For our walk today we drove over to Ashdon and parked the car in Butler's Lane and walked on a section of the Harcamlow Way... we turned back when the metalled track turned into a very muddy footpath across the middle of a field. Even so we had a good walk with plenty of very fresh air.
The main subject tree in the in the photograph is a huge pollarded (many years ago) oak that must be at least 250 years old. The field was waterlogged with the 'tram-lines' filled with water.
The Harcamlow Way is a way-marked figure of eight route from Harlow to Cambridge and back again. One of the earliest way-marked trails in this part of the country.
I woke up this morning with a bit of a headache that has persisted all day, not too bad but it's there. Effect from yesterdays jab I expect.
