The last day of January and it’s been another wet and very grey day. The temperature hovered around 3 degrees.

I’ve made cakes, practiced massage and been to the allotment where I planted another apple tree (a cooking variety) and a pear cordon. Surprisingly I wasn’t the only person there. Three others were working/perusing their plots and getting wet and muddy. It was good to get outside and be active - usually it doesn’t feel as bad as it looks from the comfort of home. However it was a pleasure to get home in the dry and warm for a sit down with a cup of tea.

These ingredients are sitting on our kitchen counter. The garlic, chilli and herbs are homegrown. Looks like it is time for Andy to make another lemon cake!
