It's all a blur

Tiring day, late photo! We'd invited friends for lunch at 1 pm and left ourselves a lot to do this morning. S took charge of the giant slab of pork along with the gravy, roast potatoes, and Yorkshire puddings. I prepared focaccia, made a pear cake, parboiled the sprouts, and made an avocado, orange, and red pepper salad. Between these tasks we tidied up, set the table, washed up, and generally tried to keep the kitchen from descending into chaos.

We just about succeeded and had a lovely afternoon, sending our guests off just in time to beat the 6 pm curfew. Not fit for much else now. It's the first time we've had guests round for a meal since August ...
