High Tide
There have been reports of a pair of humpback whales in the Firth of Forth this weekend. We walked more in hope than expectation of seeing any sign of them. Our measured expectations were correct but it was still good to think that the whales have been seen in our relatively sheltered waters.
Today T was in charge of our RSPB Big Bird Watch. This is one of those large, so called, Citizen Science projects that enables an annual audit on what thousands of people across the UK can see from their windows for one hour.
Despite the sunshine it was still bitterly cold today as we walked in the afternoon light. The beach was quite busy but not overwhelmed despite the high tide. There were a number of swimmers braving the chilly sea. Some were completing their daily swim throughout January! Well done to all of them.
