When I was a young girl,
I blamed my deafness for
our lack of communication.

I would try my hardest to communicate with you,
impress you, or at least get your attention.

I felt like I was never good enough
because we rarely do things together,
I felt like I cannot prove you anything
because you wouldn't bother paying attention.

A little "I'm proud of you" from you would make my day,
and a simple disappointment would ruin it,
It's all in the matters of hand.

You've missed out so much of my childhood,
and I feel like you're still missing out.
Please stop and take a look around you,
and realize what you have in front of you.
