Spider in a bottle

I recently read an article in a colour supplement about growing plants in water (or hydroponically if you are a scientist). Although I had never heard of the plants they showed and the glass items they were growing in looked like  ones we would get out for special guests I thought I'd try with spider.

Not the best photo (must get a macro lens) but it indicates how the plant immediately set about growing some quite impressive roots- about ten days worth.
