Eric the Penguin

Somehow I believe all penguins should be called Eric.

Back in January 2014 I met a few thousand penguins in the wild. Gentoo, Magellanic, King, Rockhopper, Chinstrap and Adelie were all seen during a truly wonderful voyage to the Antarctic Peninsula.

Of course the truly majestic Emperor penguins are well hidden further inland and require a separate mission if one is to ever have the opportunity to see them in them in their true habitat.

Hopefully this time next year, my sister and I might be able to make that journey and visit an Emperor Penguin colony. It’s early days yet but I am very keen to go if at all possible.
