The dropped stitch

A hasty, post peak blip

Today we made an afternoon trip to Kirkwall for food and some essentials at the garden centre.

The latter naturally included a coffee and cake. It was almost closing time, and at first it seemed as if there were no cakes on offer. Difficult decision.... coffee with no cake seemed only half a treat, but half a treat is surely better than no treat at all.... ?

Luckily the dilemma was resolved when the waitress found the oddments of cakes that had been tidied away.

My slightly battered piece of lemon meringue pie was delicious. It actually looked more respectable before I ate one of the meringue peaks.
