Book Title
That Cold Day in the Park
Put my bin out as they weren’t collected yesterday due to snow then went to post a birthday card.
Did the penguin shuffle in case it was icy under the snow but a public spirited member of the village had taken it upon himself to clear some of the main paths and grit them (he has a landscaping business so it’s good publicity for him).
Nevertheless l was very grateful and could stride out as normal.
Followed his route round to the park and then through it, as l knew he had cleared the main path there.
The snow is thawing fast and the grass is quite churned up in parts as there is some new playground equipment being installed including a zip wire which has meant a lot of digging up and trucks driving over some of the grass areas.
Quite frankly it looks a real mess at the moment but l have every confidence it will soon look good again.
There are lots of people ( mostly volunteers) here who take care of our village.
If you can see the clock on the tower to the right l live just behind it.
So l was straight home from here and my bin had been emptied: result.
My book title was made into a film by Robert Altman in 1969 and taken from the book of the same name written by Peter Miles.
