Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

Not boring at all, a Helle....

Still housebound as I isolate for tomorrow so I was glad to find this outside the front door. It's a white flower but goes through an amazing range of colours as it fades.
Today has been a strange day, the weather was foul so we didn't miss going out at all. Kathryn came by with a couple of bits and pieces and I gave her a letter for the girls. Normally they'd be getting a postcard a day from India throughout February! Eilidh enjoys reading them to Isobel but I need to try keep my writing neatish…I'd have made a good doctor!
As I've not had a phonecall from the hospital about my covid test, I can assume, they said, that no news is good news and it's full steam ahead for tomorrow! Today has been odd though, everything was packed and ready to go a week ahead of my last appointment so I've been hanging around a bit - the only thing that remains is to have a shower tomorrow morning and to remember not to eat or have a drink with milk in it when I get up.. I hmm have a light snack at 5.30, but if rather have another couple of hours sleep than you. I've to be at the hospital for 10.30 so assume I'll be in theatre a couple of hours later and home around 6pm, but that's all guess work and a bit of applied knowledge. I'll be so very glad to have it over with.
The numbers for Edinburgh continue to improve, that chart I put up where we were the LA ranked in 27th position with a weekly positive test rate of only 72.30 per 100k has changed again and we are now ranked 29th of the 32 local authorities with a rate of 70.3. Only Orkney, Shetland and Highland have a lower weekly rate of positive tests. It's good to see numbers coming down so well across the whole country. No word of our vaccine yet although friends our age and younger in other areas have their appointments. It will come, the more people they vaccinate, the safer I feel.
Thank you all for your good wishes for tomorrow, see you on the other side!!!
