The Wisdom of the Manatee

We’ve been experiencing an extreme dip in temperatures lately and it’s affected not only us humans, but also the Manatees that cohabitate in the area. Lately they’ve been wandering in through the canals to find warm water. Today we stumbled upon thirty or more squished together in a small waterway that was only a couple of feet deep. It’s my guess that the close quarters produced an even warmer temperature for them to be comfortable. This guy was barely below the water line and seemed right at home in front of the camera. Nature once again provided a chance to catch a glimpse of its wonder.
