Gimme a T for Texas, T for Tennessee...

"Take a walk with me baby, up the foogy mountain top"

These words sprang to mind when I woke up this morning and looked at the window, I say looked at cause I couldn't look out, through or past. It's pretty much the same now, a thick fog has developed over Ayrshire this past day.

I love the fog, it's Dickensian, it reminds me of my childhood, reading Dickens stories in the ladybird books, would it be poetic justice that one of my clearest memories of childhood is the stories of the foggy streets of the south.

I love the mystery of the fog, the strangers sihlouette in the distance, leading yourself blindly into the future.

I'd say I admire night photography more than I do those clear sunny day shots, having that lack of natural light, relying on your talent and knowledge, being without a tripod and trying to hold that camera still for those slow shutter speeds. I'm just a beginner at this, and slowly little bits are falling into place, what I'm doing wrong, what needs working on, what I like.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, it's a phrase made for art, we can't all like the same things, we accept that, at times we don't see how beautiful our own creation is to others, maybe we never accept it, but it's there, we made it, we put it out there, and there it is, for all the world to see. What may be a fog to us is as clear as day to the viewer.

Today has been a pretty good day, the postman delivered some good mail. Tomorrow is Thursday, last day of the working week for me, woohoo!

I'm running out of time to post this, so I'll shut up now, though I could go on.
