Leek in Transverse Sections

Tried a food shoot today. It wasn't as easy as I thought it would be using bright bedroom sunshine. Reflectors and sheets of glass careered about (more than once) and managed to avoid damaging bedroom door, laminate flooring and my toes. How much longer can my luck hold out I wonder. Used my recent prime lens (35mm, f1.8) but (dare I admit?) hand-held. I need a studio, lights and toe-tectors shoes...
