ABSTRACT THURSDAY - NATURE'S ABSTRACTS
When I was wandering around the garden yesterday, I noticed some of the stones at the side of the step up onto our lawn and thought they would make a good shot for a Blip - and today was the day!
First of all, though, Mr. HCB and I decided to clear out the garage and tie up lots of cardboard for the bin men to take tomorrow - we wanted to do our bit as we understand that currently, there is a shortage of cardboard - and we have had quite a few parcels delivered recently, along with millions of others, no doubt. It was quite cold and windy even under the carport and in our garage, so we needed to warm ourselves when we got back indoors.
Although it was raining, I still went out and took this photograph - being mindful of the ethos of Blip - that the photograph has to be taken ON the actual day. I actually think, too, that the rain on the stones enhanced them.
When our boys were younger, we used to pick up stones that caught our eye, bring them home and put them onto our “stone pile” - I can’t remember where we collected these four stones, but I’m sure there is a geologist somewhere who would know by their markings. According to Mr. Google, we would be classed as Rockhounds - that is people who shows extreme levels of interest in rocks and collecting them. We certainly collected lots, but I’m not sure we showed extreme levels of interest - however, it would be good to know more about them.
I have been knitting and watching the next episode of The Bay - well, to be honest, there isn’t much else to do on a cold and rainy day and we did do some work in the garage.
Thought any Blip friends with young children or grandchildren might be interested to know about a new book which is free on Kindle on Amazon and written by Anna Friend, who produced the Easter Passion Play I was involved with almost five years ago, and Jake Biggin. The book is a journey through a child's worries and fears during this worldwide pandemic.
If you want to get hold of the current book, it is FREE on Amazon Kindle until Monday to support #childrensmentalhealthweek. Here is the link - if you do download it, do let me know, so that I can tell Anna and Jake.

but we can at least
prepare our children
for the future.”
