Inspiration
Inspiration is a funny thing. Sometimes I find myself scrabbling around, desperately seeking a scrap to fill a blip; other times I seem to have a surfeit, and it becomes a matter of selection.
Time does funny things to inspiration, too. I shot quite a few "clever" images today on way from clinic to hospital, and was working through which one worked best, playing around with processing, when I chanced upon this image.
It wasn't a smart shot, not "clever" in any way; I just liked the pattern of light of the floor of the car park, and the texture of the concrete in that pattern...I lined it up so it pleased my eye on my phone's screen and took it. I certainly didn't think anyone but I would be seeing it.
It turns out to be the one I took. By far. I could've even used it SOOC (or straight out of camera), at least insofar as it had been "preprocessed" by 645PRO, but a little tweak in Snapseed (Drama filter at 33%, and a little bit of diagonal tilt-shift with blurring turned put the finishing touches to what has turned out to one of my favourite blips (I think what little post-processing I did helps to draw the eye to the textured floor).
I know the above might sound a bit big-headed, but in truth I never would've thought even to try a shot like this if I hadn't been inspired by all the wonderful blips I've seen since I started on here. A big thank you to Ben for encouraging me to get involved.
This blip in particular was inspired by Sara Evan's journal and by just a smidgeon of ]Nick Mog[/url]
So here's to inspiration, wherever we may find it!
