I wish !

On a driech miserable day such as today, I look up at this painting to cheer things up. Just over a year ago in a Western Cape town in South Africa I had agreed a price for it from a stallholder, when his rather fearsome looking wife suddenly appeared on the scene and demanded much more than that we had agreed On pulling more rands out to secure the painting and keep the peace, the man said he was sorry about all that but he was under the thumb and had to do as told. When I said ' oh your henpecked then ' , Mr and Mrs Stallholder and myself doubled with laughter. Yet another magical moment in a wonderful country and can't wait to go back.
