Vintage postbox.
Listening to Radio Leeds yesterday morning, we heard a gentleman talking about how he started looking for old postboxes during his lockdown walks round Leeds.
The oldest one he found was in Tong village.
We pass it every week when we come back from the farm shop, so today I asked MrC to stop the car so I could take a photo.
A lady was trying to post a letter, but as you can see it is no longer in use. Not sure why. Maybe because it is at the edge of the village, and there is another one in the centre.
However a very smart Victorian box, with a VR on the front, and makes a good blip.
Snow all gone, except for little patches here and there, but a dull miserable day.
I spent the afternoon sorting out the yearly accounts for our wine club.
( and falling out with the laptop/printer)
Our last meeting was in March last year. At the time we certainly hadn’t realised it would be well over 12 months before we would be meeting up again. May be next Christmas ?
