SNOW DRIFTS
We received only 3 or 4 inches of snow yesterday but an arctic cold front, directly out of Canada, blew in on 40mph (64kph) winds that worked all night long, shaking the house and rocking me to sleep. Right now it's 10°F. (-12.2°C.) and the wind chill is -25°F. (-31.6°C.) and getting colder.
This shot is right after sunup looking out the back door toward the garage. It's interesting how wind can sculpt snow into deep drifts and only a short distance away the ground is almost snow free. This drift, which I will tackle in an hour or so, is thigh deep.
The Extra shot is out the front window looking at a waist deep drift across my neighbor's drive. He's out there right now as he has to get his wife to Physical Therapy...she just had a knee replacement.
He has this really nice tractor that can move some snow quickly. I'm basically a shovel guy with a walk-behind snow thrower.
