It won't be the last. (I hope!)

I note it's now 45 days since the winter solstice, and 43 to the spring equinox, so we are out of what I call The Dark Quarter - the 90 or 91 darkest days of the year. According the the Met Office, sunrise today was 07.48, sunset 16.59, therefore 9h 11m daylight to 14h 49m darkness, disregarding any twilight zone.

Over the next 90+ days, those figures will reverse, so we're over the worst of winter in terms of daylight. Not, however, regarding temperatures, with the Beast from the East part 2 on its way over the weekend, apparently.
