Anyone for Cricket?
One of the (many) advantages of living outside the city is the ease of kids' weekend sport.
In Sydney they would have had to go in three different directions (all with difficulty parking) for a Saturday game. But Elizabeth, Hugh and Henry were all able to play cricket on the same team here in Blackheath this morning.
It was an under 13 match. Elizabeth is 12 (although being a girl she gets a dispensation so can also play under 11s on Wednesdays).
Hugh is 9 and plays in the the under 11s but also with under the 13s as there is a shortage of players and he is good enough.
Henry is 6 and there is no team for him at present so he hangs around on the sideline looking hopeful. Today they called him on to field which made his day. He did a good job too and even got a bowl after the result was declared as they had time for a few extra overs. That made for one very happy boy :-)
Meanwhile Adelaide and Jane were content to hang around playing with leaves and grass.
