Birthday lunch

J’s birthday. She hadn’t wanted too much fuss this year, but was happy to catch up with our good friends for lunch. I organised a window table at the River Cafe which has open views down the river towards the city. 

A grey showery day, nobody seated outside on the terrace. This is our third or fourth visit, two previously also on J’s birthday. It’s becoming a bit of a tradition. The menu’s always good, the food has never been anything less than great. Today we enjoyed tapas entrees, fillet of beef with black truffle mash and crab linguine.

After lunch back to our friends’ place to relax. Music, wine and a game of Suburbia. All in all a very good day.
