Trees

I made this cover for a photo album that contains pictures of trees that are special to our family.
The embroidery is based on a painting by Klimt, one of a series of forest trees in different seasons. Klimt's picture of birch trees is made up from thousands of tiny brush strokes. Mine has a patchwork background with the pieces joined with herringbone stitch. On top of this I attached the birch trees with bondaweb and then embroidered over the top with a variety of different stitches. It was a labour of love.
