Hamsteren (stockpiling)

For days now the weather men have been giving warnings about a cold spell with lots of snow on Sunday and temperatures far below zero. Apparently tomorrow it is going to snow all day ! Wouldn't you believe it, nothing as strange as folk, people have started stockpiling again and now their main buy is bread which is sold out about everywhere !

I wonder if this squirrel knows about the weather reports, it was going through the pumpkin seeds as if it hadn't eaten for days and needed to stock up !  In Dutch stockpiling is called 'hamsteren' (acting like a hamster) but I guess they could have called it 'eekhoornen' (acting like a squirrel) as well .
