Before During and After

Our fortnightly vegetable box straight from a local farm can present some challenges.

This week we received what looks like a stalk of Brussels sprouts, but all the sprouts had opened into little lettuce-like structures.

An internet search reveals that tells they are "blown" Brussels sprouts and that they are perfectly edible.

We never buy sprouts and this is the third time we have had them in the box.

This Before During and After mix shows the strange looking stalk, the cooking with chestnuts and chopped bacon, and the bare stalk.

We enjoyed them!
