Only the Best Will Do

He was back again and lucky me he FINALLY rocked up.

Setting myself up yet again outside in the breeze house I played a waiting game this afternoon. Two hours passed and I thought nothing was going to appear at all in total contrast to early this morning when the world and his wife were on the bird feeders. However - no clothes = no shot.

I did take my sudoku and a book outside .... plus my phone just in case. Sure enough my fieldfare flew in and my phone rang (I could have put money on it) with Dad saying he'd no food in the house. NOW ....unless they had had the entire Yorkshire Rotary Club round for supper at least twice, that could not be the case. So I succumbed whilst  doing covert ops and in a whisper to saying I'd ring back which I did later.

My fieldfare was looking tired and eat and dozed for a few seconds and ate and dozed again but luckily for him there weren't any contenders for the fruit he was guarding.

I feel I am so lucky to be able to have him incredibly up close and personal especially with them being very wild easily spooked. Looking at the photo ops I feel I'm going to spend tomorrow outside waiting too. Roll on end of lockdown :)

One amazing thing which I forgot to say was that there were 15 magpies in our garden today. A staggering number tho' this seems to happen yearly that they get together in their family groups for what looks like socialising.
