The Next Morning
Temperatures plummeted overnight, opening the day at around 11°F and a bitter wind with it. Periodically clouds parted, allowing a wave of sunshine to sweep over the lake snow, briefly illuminating the old boathouse which yesterday had been obscured in the storm.
My eyes were tearing up in the wind making it difficult to focus and I had to shield the long lens against vibration. Fortunately in the bright light, my shutter speed was decent, but timing the shot when the trees were in the sun still took a few attempts. It was the white snow covered limbs that first attracted me.
Before long the clouds closed in and flat light resumed. I retreated to the warmth.
