First sighting in 2021

A quiet and restful day today after yesterday’s slog. After hanging a couple of mirrors, and poking in some ‘cuttings’ from a daisy, I went down to Southend where I had my fist sighting for 2021 of two poaka (pied stilts). They always seem very alert and ready to leave and today was no different. The one who has been photographed for my blip was watching my movements (minimal, actually), and it wasn’t long before it led the other one away.
