Timothy Bennet Memorial

In the 18th century public access through Bushy Park was prevented by the Ranger, building a wall around it. Timothy Bennet was prepared to take the Ranger to court over the matter, and eventually 'Cobbler's Walk' was opened between Hampton Wick and Hampton / Hampton Hill (Upper Lodge). The monument was erected in 1900.
