Easterly

Sadly hardly any snow fell at our level despite it seeming bitterly cold in a sharp wind.
We had a long wander wrapped up well that seemed to dispose of the morning, then a lovely lunch*
This afternoon was a final run through of the lichens webinar and then a zoom catchup with the family. Awful to realise my beautiful young niece has now had her viral rheumatoid arthritis (which incapacitates her very severely) for a decade and doctors are still doing tests to try and work out the best treatment for her. Puts a lot of things into perspective.

*except for an incredible near miss when fat explosively spat out of the pan and 5-6ft across the kitchen and hit me in the eye. Miraculously it had either cooled in flight or my eye shut fractionally soon enough as I felt the impact but haven't been injured.
