Dawn over the old causeway to Holy Island
Taken this morning at 7.16am in Lindisfarne Bay. Great conditions though a tad cold (-2c). The tide was still going out and the horizon just beginning to lighten as I walked across the bay. As ever, a stunning location - no sound but for a variety of wetland bird calls. The large wooden poles mark a safe crossing to Lindisfarne (Holy Island), which was still in use in the early 20th century. The platform is a safe refuge for anyone who got caught out by a fast incoming tide.
