Two blues and a long-tail

Today's the day ……………………. for a visitation

A lovely thing happened today out at the feeders - we had a visit from a party of long-tailed tits.

They are such delightful little birds, with their tiny bodies and disproportionately long, narrow tails - and they just love hanging about with the crowd.  I have to say, we don't see them that often - so when we do it's a real treat.

Another good thing that happened today was an email from David, the man-in-charge of the Tongland Abbey Archaeological Dig that I so enjoyed last summer.  He was sending word that the new owners of the house with the garden where the dig takes place, are happy for us to go ahead again this summer.  So he will apply for the grant to continue - and fingers crossed - that will come through too.

And with an appointment tomorrow for the covid vaccination, things are seriously looking up ……………………..!
