Anyone for curling

Although it was bitterly cold today, it was sunny.  Having walked for the most part along East Kilbride's streets for a year, we took the car for a twenty minute drive and walked in the countryside around Strathaven. Apart from green fields, there were lots of places where the ground was water-logged and had turned into solid sheets of ice due to the minus degrees in the temperature.  When we saw this scene, we both said what an ideal location for an outdoor curling match (curling is our go to sport)   It would be perfectly safe as the water under the ice would be no more than a few cm deep. Just need to persuade 6 other people to join us and of course the owner of the field - who may well be a curler.
