Nocciola

Grim day of heavy clouds and showers. I did a couple of sessions with the petrol chainsaw being extremely careful on the wet ground.

First session cutting down the last of the hazel coppice apart from a perimeter I’m leaving on the south side. No fire today which makes the job a bit joyless. The petrol saw works faster than the battery one but I began to feel the extra weight in my left forearm, the fumes in my lungs and the ringing in my ears.

In the afternoon I started cutting the short lengths of stem wood into logs for the fire using my trusty saw horse.

The wet weather didn’t let up: I was not ‘bagnato al ultimo’ but iI was more than damp.
