Sea Ice on Skis
The sun was shining again today, and Jan was feeling much more active than yesterday so we decided to take the car, drive to the same place I walked yesterday, and ski on the snow-covered ice. We were out earlier today so the sun was a little higher and shone with a little more warmth. You go faster on x-country skis than you do walking so we soon reached the railway bridge, skied under it to where I turned back yesterday. We both took pictures and then we headed back.
We’d spotted a table and some chairs left over from the summer, where the forest met the ice, so we paused there, sat in the sun, in those summer chairs, eating trail mix and drinking water (extra). After a while we got cold and warmed up by continuing the trip back to the car.
Home to drink mulled wine and feel sleepy!
The picture is taken right at the start of our trip.
As with yesterday’s images it was very hard to choose just one. Now the other pictures from yesterday and today can be seen in a flickr group.
