Type K post box

Another type of post box within 10 minutes walk of my home. Although I have passed it many times, I only really noticed it when I started my post box project (or obsession, as my family call it).

The Type K was supposed to be the modern design of the future in 1979, but reportedly it was not popular with the public (I don't know how they ascertain this) and the design was discontinued in 2001. The Post Office returned to the traditional design. This one is at the entrance to a housing development built in the 1990s on the site of Isleworth Brewery.
