Chloe busy marking. I’ve given myself an evening off.

Today our deputy head sent out a second call for teachers to read a story for our next few weeks’ virtual assemblies. I’d hung back on offering before, as my role as IT lead has given me a fair bit of extra work over the past year, and I just felt there were plenty of others who could do Jackanory. Anyway, guilt overcame me so I offered- it’s not exactly a big deal, and I started to think about suitable books. Within minutes I had another message from the head saying that I didn’t have to, as they both know I’ve been ‘working my socks off behind the scenes’ lately. A small gesture on their part, I guess, but it meant a lot to me today. Nice to be appreciated.
